Winds Of Change

"The voice of one crying in the wilderness..." A prelude to the Apocalypse. I wanted to do a concept album that primarily delt with the last days and what people might experience in those final moments.

I came up with the idea of a "Fantastic Vision" from the movie "Fantastic Voyage," one of my favorite sci-fi films from the '60s. I toyed with those words in Italian and Spanish, because I wanted something exotic sounding for a title. One day I typed in the titles on the internet and "Asmodea," a painting by Francisco de Goya came up, which was later named "Vista Fantastica" by one of his friends. From that I discover the "Black Paintings." So the Spanish feel of this intro song was a "hat tip" to Goya's work and commentary on society.

As I began to research and write, the theme of a war between good and evil in society and individuals became a constant thread that tied all the songs together as a concept. Each song represents a different social struggle faced by most, if not all of us in life...in the end we must all find answers for ourselves.
