We started jamming in daddy’s garage
Played so loud that the cops came by
They didn’t shut us down ‘cause we sounded so good
Just hung around and we jammed all night
Lynn McCrosky was working real late
The cool sound made him wanna take a break
He came to check out the FELT boys band
We were laying it down just right

He said fellas I think you’re gonna be stars
You gotta make a demo if you wanna go far
I remember it all like yesterday
It helped make us who we are

Starry eyed rockers with a teenage dream
Thought we held the world by the tail
And we could do anything
Let’s start a fire like 1970
Sky was the limit in the music scene
And even after all these years
We know what it means to be free…like 1970

It was better than the summer of love
Thought we were gonna change the world
Everybody was ready for something
The only way we could go was up
Bob Tubert loved the demo tape
We thought everything was going great
They made a record of the FELT boys band
But that was the only one

Mykey got busted and he did some time
And when I got out I didn’t have no rhymes
One different choice could’ve changed it all
We just couldn’t read the signs
