1994 was the last year I taught guitar and studio techniqes at a local Junior College. I wrote this around the time Kurt Cobain died. I watched an episode of "Cops" one night and wrote this song in about 10 minutes in the midst of my sadness over Kurt and all of the hurt people I saw...I only changed one word: from "last night" to "tonight" in verse one. Everything else is exact...Verse three was an homage to the 60s

A classic Western movie flashed before my sight
As I remembered all those feelings of my child
I sat and wondered when did everything become so wild?
We’re living in denial of what’s right

I saw police arrest a man in his front yard
He had a gun…He said that life was just too hard
His wife and children cried and watched him ride away
They would be missing him but they’d be living one more day
I think it’s safe to say he’ll break their hearts
