Prodigal

from 130 dB by Mychael John Thomas

about

This was an instrumental I recorded with no specific melody in mind. I had recorded drums, keys, bass, and acoustic guitars. When Jeff came to the studio to do Alto Sax on "Stay" he asked if there was anything he could play Tenor on. I said, "Sure, I got this instrumental you can just play around with." I started the track and hit record just for kicks. So what you hear is a straight improve from start to finish in one take! I muted only a couple of measures and only in spots. I then improved along side Jeff...The outcome was MAGIC! It fit very nicely as a closing for the album...

Jeff's performance was so crucial to the song I gave him a writer's credit...THANK YOU JEFF : )
