I Drive

from 130 dB by Mychael John Thomas

about

The last actual composed song of the album...Inspired by driving home from a gig. It was 172 miles away. I had to stop and sleep on the way back, and even after my power nap I barely made it. I suppose it's a metaphor for the struggle of life. When things get tough you just have to press on...I drive : )

lyrics

I DRIVE
By Mychael John Thomas

I’m watching lines…Killing time and counting miles
I see the sun come up…The morning sky starting to smile
An endless lane filled with questions on my way
And tho I don’t know now I hope to have answers someday

CHORUS
Till then I drive…I got this burning inside
I got the fever for a thrill
Ain’t nothing gonna fill me this time
And so I drive

A vicious chain…Of all decisions that I’ve made
And once my mind’s made up I’m livin’ it down every day
A blind man’s view of everything that I been through
I get a hind sight mirror an’ take a look at half of the truth

CHORUS
That’s when I drive…Never seem to arrive
Sometimes I think I’m worse for the wear
But I just can’t decide
And so I drive

SOLO

I see the sun come up…The morning sky starting to smile

CHORUS
I got to drive…As long as I am alive
There may something yet down the road
That can help me survive
So I just drive…I just drive

I drive…Gonna drive it home (repeat)
